HWS changes its name to Hermes Fulfilment
Hamburg, 23 September 2009 – Hermes Warehousing Solutions GmbH is soon to be known as Hermes Fulfilment GmbH. This change of name, which is to take place on 1 October 2009, has been prompted by the fact that the company’s portfolio of services has been transformed in recent years. Furthermore, on the same date HWS will become a major part of the recently founded Hermes Europe Service Holding. In this role, Hermes Fulfilment will deliver integrated multi-channel solutions to the mail order and store based retail sector as an independent company and full service supplier. The visible feature of this new set-up is a modernised blue Hermes logo.
“We decided we needed a new appearance because the range of services we offer has changed so much since the company was founded,” explains Dieter Urbanke, managing director of Hermes Fulfilment. “In addition to warehouse logistics we now also deliver integrated multi-channel fulfilment solutions to mail order and store based retailers.” In addition to Hermes Fulfilment, the Hermes umbrella brand also includes the business segments Hermes Logistik Gruppe Deutschland, Hermes Einrichtungs Service, Hermes Transport Logistics, Otto International and Hansecontrol.
The advantage of working in partnership with these business segments is that in the future services across the entire supply chain can be offered from a single source. This will make Hermes Fulfilment even more capable and also open up new opportunities worldwide. Uniting all these companies under one strong brand will strengthen their presence in the market.
The first joint appearance of Hermes Fulfilment and the other Hermes business segments will be at Mail Order World from 29 September to 2 October 2009 in Wiesbaden (hall 1/ stand 124). In parallel, the new brand web site www.hermes-europe.de will be launched on 29 September.
